Project Case Study
Curbless Shower Remodel in Longview, TX
An existing leak repair, a larger doorway, and a curbless entrance came together with marble-look walls and a mosaic pattern repeated across the pan, ceiling, and niche.

Project Overview
A Shower Remodel Built Around Repair and Layout Changes
We remodeled this shower in Longview, Texas, combining an existing leak repair with changes to the entry and a coordinated custom tile design. We centered the drain in the shower pan, enlarged the doorway, and made the shower curbless. These changes formed the core of the work, with the tile, storage, and fixtures completing the shower.
The project focused on the shower itself. Inside the opening, large marble-look wall tiles meet gray-and-white mosaic on the pan and overhead. A recessed niche brings that same mosaic into the wall, connecting the storage detail to the floor and ceiling.

Leak Repair and Layout
A Larger Doorway and a Curbless Entry
Repairing the existing leak was part of this remodel. Along with that repair, we centered the drain in the shower pan and enlarged the doorway. We also removed the raised shower curb, changing the entry to a curbless opening.
The larger doorway opens up the view into the shower, and the pan now meets the entrance without a raised curb across it. The overall project photograph shows the resulting entrance, centered drain, and new tile finishes.
Tile and Finishes
Marble-Look Walls and a Full Mosaic Ceiling
We installed 24-by-24-inch wall tiles with a white marble-look finish and gray veining. Their large square format gives the wall pattern room to show, while the small mosaic pieces introduce a different scale across the shower pan.
The mosaic continues across the entire shower ceiling. This is a distinguishing detail of the project: the gray-and-white pattern repeats above and below, tying the ceiling to the shower floor. Together, those surfaces frame the larger wall tiles.
We used chrome fixtures and chrome-finish metal edge trim. The shower fixture includes a handheld showerhead with a flexible hose, visible against the veined wall tile in the detail photographs.
Recessed Storage
A Divided Niche with Matching Mosaic
The recessed shower niche has a divider shelf that creates two storage compartments. Its backing uses the same gray-and-white mosaic pattern as the shower pan and ceiling, carrying the finish through a third part of the shower.
Marble-look tile surrounds the niche, and chrome-finish trim outlines the opening. The shelf separates the upper and lower compartments, giving the shower built-in storage within the tiled wall.
The Result
Repair, Entry Changes, and Coordinated Finishes
This Longview shower brings the leak repair, centered drain, enlarged doorway, and curbless entry together with a consistent tile design. The full mosaic ceiling and divided niche give the project its own character, while the chrome fixture and trim complete the finish selections.
